Auburn Hills, MI., December 13th, 2024
HIROTEC AMERICA, a member of the HIROTEC Group, a global tier one automotive supplier, announced the promotion of Shawn Dubry to the position of Vice President of Operations and Tomomi Nitta to the position of Vice President of Die Operations.
Shawn joined HIROTEC AMERICA as a Cost Estimator in 2007 with over fifteen years of industry experience. His strong leadership capabilities and strategic approach saw him rise through the ranks of management leading to his three-year executive expatriate assignment as President of HIROTEC Tooling de Mexico. During this time, he played a pivotal role in streamlining operations and fostering cross-cultural collaboration, significantly enhancing the company's performance. Most recently, he has led the team as the General Manager of Operations in the United States and was appointed to the Board of Directors for HIROTEC Tooling de Mexico in January 2024. In his new role as Vice President of Operations, Shawn will continue to provide executive leadership, while focusing on optimizing processes and foster innovation within the organization.
Tomomi has been with HIROTEC since 1996 and has served as an expert in the field of Die Operations. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University and began her career at HIROTEC AMERICA as a Japanese Translator, where she used her experience and bilingual expertise to collaborate amongst all departments. She quickly grew throughout the organization and has held various positions and managerial roles in Project Management, Hemming, Die Engineering, and Die Execution. She most recently held the role of General Manager of Die Operations, overseeing the entire die process, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the Stamping, Hemming, and Quality Departments. Her strategic oversight has led to significant improvements in project timelines and cost management. In her new role, Tomomi will continue to foster effective communication with our parent company, enhance collaboration and provide executive leadership.
"We are very excited to promote Shawn to Vice President of Operations," said Phil Zanolli, COO of HIROTEC AMERICA. "Shawn’s extensive experience running our Mexico division, and proven track record from Estimating to Project Management make him the ideal candidate to lead our operations team. We are confident that under his leadership, we will continue to achieve new heights."
“I have had the pleasure of working with Tomomi for over two decades," said Katsu Uno, HIROTEC AMERICA’s Chairman and CEO. " Her leadership of the Stamping Group in the United States, combined with her bilingual expertise in communicating with our parent company, has been instrumental. In 2017, Tomomi led the expansion of our Stamping Operations in Auburn Hills, crucial for our business growth and industry expertise. Her leadership has been key to our success."
